Barry Sanders

I have been a football fan for as long as I can remember.

My favorite all-time player was Walter Payton. He was tough and worked really hard to be one of the best players of all time.

My second favorite player was not a Chicago Bear, he was a Detroit Lion. His name is Barry Sanders. He too was a running back.

I would watch Lions football games just to see Barry Sanders play. He was explosive and indestructible.

Last year, at the age of 55, Barry Sanders had a heart attack. I found it astonishing that a world class athlete could suffer from such a disease.

Last weekend Barry Sanders had a show on A & E discussing his heart attack. He also interviewed 4 other heart attack and stroke survivors. Each one spoke of their symptoms. All of them had different symptoms.

When we research heart attacks, there are general symptoms always listed that we should to look for.

But the one thing they all had in common was that none of them believed they were having a heart attack. I also didn’t believe I was having a heart attack when it happened.

In dentistry, we all look for the same thing.

We are all looking for a provider that cares about us. But we all have different needs and we want someone who gets us and our needs. It’s that simple.

At Dente, our whole team understands that part of the patient experience. They are expert listeners and that’s the main ingredient to having a caring experience.

One of the main reasons that people will leave their dentist is because they no longer feel cared for. The connection they once had is no longer there.

Dente has been around since 2006, and many of our patients that still see us today, started then as well. They have continued with us because they feel seen and cared for.
